Runner-up in 'The Guardian' photography competition

I was pleased to learn that one of my photographs has been selected for the June on-line travel portfolio of 'The Guardian'. The theme in June was 'City Life' and I selected my photograph of the moment when the gold markets opened and gold dealers in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar started trading.

It is an example when it pays to get-in close to people rather than use a long lens, which I was able to do after chatting to local traders (luckily their English was very good as my Turkish is not!).
