Lonely Planet magazine - June edition

I have been contacted by the Assistant Editor of Lonely Planet who informs me that they would like to feature one of my images in the June edition of the 'Lonely Planet' travel magazine. I also have to supply some copy and brief details about myself, along with another dreaded 'head and shoulders' shot. The UK version of the magazine has been in existence since October 2008 and has a circulation of over 45,000 each month.

I have subscribed for a year or so to this publication and it has been an ambition to have a picture published in it. This is the first time I have entered any images to the magazine and I chose 2 from my recent trip to Marrakech. The selected photograph was my favourite of the 2 - taken in Essaouira in Morocco. I took over 20 photographs trying to capture the randomness of the boats and this was 1 of only 3 that had any people in it.

This makes the severe bout of Campylobacter I caught whilst in Morocco and the subsequent course of antibiotics seem totally worthwhile!!
