I graduated in 1990 from the Kent Institute of Art and Design with a BA (Hons), having studied graphic design and photography. Since April 2008 I have progressed my photography on a semi-'professional' basis after leaving the Civil Service following 15-years service. I am a member of the Bureau of Freelance Photographers and the Royal Photographic Society. In June 2011 I achieved the internationally recognised Distinction of 'Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society' - LRPS.

I specialise in travel photography and I am one of the photographers who provide 'LatitudeStock' (a specialist travel photography agency) with travel images and also to 'Alamy', the biggest online photographic stock library in the world. I also supply the greetings card market with floral, seasonal and wildlife images.

I was fortunate to have a number of my images critiqued by Steve Davey - the travel photographer and writer (his books include Footprint's - 'Travel Photography' and BBC's 'Unforgettable Places to See Before You Die' ) in February 2009. I admire his work and his honest comments have been invaluable in helping me to improve both my technique and style.

All of my images have been through a 'post-production' process using Aperture 3 software and Photoshop for the Apple Mac.

I currently use a Canon 50D SLR with two Canon telephoto zoom lenses - a recently acquired EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS II USM and also the EF 24-70 mm f/2.8L IS USM - both fantastic 'L' lenses that should serve me for a good few years. For flexibility I also carry a Sigma wide angle lens (12-24mm F/4.5-5.6) and Sigma macro lens (105mm F/2.8). I use circular polarisers and a Lee filter system for Neutral Density (ND) and ND graduated filters.
